This view of Washington D.C. is taken from a top a hill located in Arlington National Cemetery. The grave in the foreground belongs to Pierre Charles L'Enfant, the designer and architect of the city of Washington. The cemetery, located on the Potomac River, is the final resting place of more than 290,000 veterans, military casualties, and other notable civilians. John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy are two of the most famous who are buried in the cemetery. The Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, and United States Capitol can be seen in the background.
