Nyhavn Waterfront Of Copenhagen, Denmark
The colorful and vibrant New Harbor, or Nyhavn in Danish, with its brightly colored houses, cafes, and bars.
The Nyhavn buildings and canal date back to the 17th century. The canal was dug by prisoners from Sweden between 1658 and 1660 during the Dano-Swedish War. The surrounding buildings were constructed in 1670 by Kng Christian V, king of Denmark and Norway.
The canal is linked to the inner city at Kongens Nytorv, or King's Square, where ships would unload their catch of fish and other cargo.
Today, the canal is lined with many restaurants, bars, cafes, and a ship museum. The oldest house of Nyhavn, Number 9, dates back to 1661.
